OREANDA-NEWS. On October 03, 2008 Sakhalin Energy Investment Company Ltd. and OOO Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk signed a five-year contract for Operations and Maintenance Services for the Sakhalin II pipeline system, reported the press-centre of Sakhalin Energy.

OOO Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk is a long established West Siberian gas transmission company with some 30 years of experience of pipeline servicing. In addition to the safe and reliable operation of Sakhalin Energy’s 1,670 km oil and gas onshore pipelines, Booster Station 2, and 104 block valve stations, OOO Gazprom Transgaz Tomsk will also provide servicing and maintenance of all support assets utilising four pipeline maintenance depots which are strategically placed along the pipeline corridor at Nogliki, Yasnoye, Gastello and Sovetskoye.

"OOO Gazprom Transgaz is already providing Sakhalin Energy with key onshore pipeline commissioning support. This new agreement is a key milestone in the transition of the Sakhalin II Project into the operations phase", said Sakhalin Energy CEO Ian Craig. "The company's extensive experience and high quality of operation gives us the comfort of knowing that our onshore pipelines are in good hands", he added.
