OREANDA-NEWS  On 13 October was announced, that Odesaoblenerho power supplying company (ODEN) had commissioned a high-voltage power transmission line Bolhrad-Budzhak-Reni in Odesa region.

Deputy Fuel and Energy Minister Volodymyr Luchnykov has told this in course of a solemn meeting in Odesa devoted to the commissioning.

In his words, this line is the second stage of the programme of ensuring South West of Odesa region with reliable electricity supply.

"This strategic project is the biggest for the recent twenty years," Luchnykov stressed.

He specified that the Bolhrad-Budzhak-Reni line of 110 kV was designed, financed and built in one year.

The line stretches for about 96 kilometers, UAH 160 million were invested in it.

As to Luchnykov, peculiarity of this project lies in that 1,600 meters of the line are laid on the bottom of the Kahul lake.

Luchnykov added that habitation areas at South West of Odesa region are powered from the United Energy Pool of Ukraine, which raises reliability and independence of Ukraine's power supply.

At the same time he marked that power engineers left the Bolhrad substation feeding from Vulkanest, Moldova. "This means that all the three 110 kV lines remain in service. So today we have a reserve. We're still keeping friendly relations with our colleagues from the Moldovan Energy Pool," Luchnykov says.

Moreover, Odesaoblenerho completed the second stage of the reconstruction of the 110 kV Bolhrad substation and currently is carrying out the third stage of the reconstruction.

At the third stage they have already installed a 25,000 kVA transformer and are mounting 35 kV electric equipment. As Ukrainian News reported, in December 2007, Odesaoblenerho commissioned the Artsyz-Bolhrad high-voltage line of 90 kilometers in Odesa region.

This line was reported to be the first stage of the Cabinet of Ministers' programme of energy development of South West of Odesa region.

The State Property Fund owns 25.01% of the shares in Odesaoblenerho (these shares are managed by the Energy Company of Ukraine national joint-stock company), V.S. Energy International Ukraine LLC 44%, V.S. Energy International N.V. (the Netherlands) 11.16%, Foster Group Management (Bahamas) 5.41%, the rest belong to physical and legal entities.
