OREANDA-NEWS  On 14 October was announced, that Lviv became next city where Days of Lithuania in Ukraine 2008 took place. In February 2008, on the eve of Lithuanian Independent Restoration Day great cultural performance Days of Lithuania in Ukraine 2008 started in Kyiv. The main aim of this performance was to get Ukrainians know Lithuanian art, culture, history and economy. Days of Lithuania in Ukraine were organized by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, and Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to Ukraine. Concern Galnaftogaz supported performance financially.

Within the week of Lithuanian culture in L'viv such events will take place:

– photo show Lithuanian Baroque;

– exhibition Portraits of Personalities of the Epoch of Grand Duchy of Lithuania from the holdings of L'viv Art Gallery and L'viv History Museum;

– exhibition of modern Lithuanian textile;

– exhibition Heritage of Grand Duchy of Lithuania in holdings of Scientific Library of Ivan Franko National University of L'viv;   

– presentation with degustation The Unknown Pages of Culinary Heritage of Grand Duchy of Lithuania with the participation of professor A. Bumblauskas;

– International Scientific Conference Historical Heritage of Grand Duchy of Lithuania in Ukraine: research and preservation;

– concert of ensemble of early music Banchetto musicale within Sixth early music festival Since Time of Rzeczpospolita.

During the week of Lithuanian culture in L'viv roundtable discussion between experts on historical and cultural heritage of Lithuania and Ukraine will take place; it will be followed by signing agreement on cooperation between experts on historical and cultural heritage of Lithuania and Ukraine.
