OREANDA-NEWS  On 14 October was announced, that exhibition Portraits of personalities of the epoch of Grand Duchy of Lithuania which takes place in the Lviv Art Gallery since October, 7 th, is dedicated to week of Lithuanian culture in Lviv. Showpieces represented at the exhibition originate from Oles'ko Castle – the branch of L'viv Art Gallery, and L'viv History Museum. Portraits' collection is formed out of old museum collections, which were kept in L'viv – particularly assemblages of Liubomyrskys and museum of Jan III Sobieski, and numerous castle collections as well – from Pidhorets'ky, Oles'ko, Chortkivs'ky and other castles.

Portraits represented at the exhibition picture statesmen and public figures of the epoch of Grand Duchy of Lithuania; spectators can enjoy portraits of famous persons who made a lot for social and cultural development of society.

"This exhibition shows distinctly, how interconnected our cultures actually are, and through culture our societies are interconnected as well. The exhibition shows how culturally and mentally akin we, inhabitants of this part of Europe, are. Culture, tradition, spirituality are important unitive elements in the building of common Europe, and while building our relations, first of all we should make actual this common, constructive", – pointed out Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Lithuania in L'viv Vitaliy Antonov.
