OREANDA-NEWS  On 15 October was announced, that PAVA (www.apkhleb.ru), the largest grain processor in the Asian part of Russia, summarized the operational results in export over 3 quarters of the current year. The volume of flour which was shipped to foreign countries over 9 months in 2008 equaled the 2007 year total in export. Export shipments of the 3 quarters amounted to approximately 37,000 tonnes of flour.

“Analyzing the trends in shipments over 2 years, we can be optimistic in our forecasts. Last year, flour was shipped to our overseas partners mainly in the 4th quarter. Now, there are large contracts planned for this period as well. I think we may claim that in 2008 our export shipments will stand at 50-55 tonnes of flour. In this way, we will exceed the last year’s performance by 33-49% at least”, says Angela Kiseleva, OJSC PAVA Commercial Director.

This year, PAVA has established a long-standing partnership with Afghanistan. Today, large volumes of flour are shipped to this country, and at the same time there is a potential for further development of business relations. For the first time the grain processor shipped flour to African countries: Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya. Besides, first shipments were made to Bangladesh, South Korea and Thailand.

Supposedly, in the 4th quarter the majority of flour will be shipped to Afghanistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

“After we entered the market of Central Asia, we quickly managed to earn customers’ loyalty. Choosing Altay flour once, they start to buy it regularly because they are pleased with its quality. Today we are equal competitors to the suppliers working on the Central-Asian markets for about 20 years. For us, this is of course a credit from the buyers to which will respond by shipping high-quality products at moderate prices”, - concluded the Commercial Director.

In the current year the base of PAVA’s foreign clients was increased by 34%. Overseas partners decide on collaboration with PAVA for a number of reasons. First of all, it is the only company over the Urals able to manufacture large volumes of products necessary for export, and of steadily high quality as well. Secondly, flour mills of the grain processor are situated close to export borders. And, lastly, the Company has an International Business Department specializing in drawing up international contracts.
