OREANDA-NEWS. October 14, 2008. The Moldovan government has given Kyrgyzstan humanitarian assistance worth 100,000 dollars for the abolition of consequences of the earthquake that hit the country on Sunday, 5 October 2008.

According to a government decision, adopted at the yesterday's meeting, the proceeds are to be allotted from the reserve fund of the government.

The 6.6-degree earthquake was felt in Kyrgyzstan near the Chinese border. At least 60 people died and over 100 were seriously injured in the wake of the quake. The material loss has not been estimated yet. One of the quake-hit villages was totally destroyed.
