OREANDA-NEWS  On 16 October was announced, that the Federal Arbitration Court of the Moscow Region completed its review of a cassation petition filed by Interregional Office #7 of the Russian Federation’s Tax Administration. The petition concerned the Moscow Arbitration Court's decision and Ninth Arbitration Appeals Court's ruling on a claim holding CenterTelecom accountable for a tax offence pursuant to a scheduled field tax audit of CenterTelecom’s operations for the years 2004-2006. The Federal Arbitration Court of Moscow region affirmed the Moscow Arbitration Court's decision and the Ninth Arbitration Appeals Court's ruling, and dismissed the cassation petition.
 
In October 2007, Interregional Office #7 issued a decision reflecting the claim. According to the document, the tax claim against the company for 2004-2006 totaled RUR440 million, including RUR343 million in taxes and RUR97 million in penalties. CenterTelecom contested the decision in Moscow Arbitration Court. As a result of the legal proceeding, on March 26, 2008 the court declared the tax administration’s RUR440 million claim groundless.
 
After this decision Interregional Office #7 of the Russian Federation’s Tax Administration filed a cassation petition with the Ninth Arbitration Appellation Court. After legal proceedings the court dismissed the cassation petition and affirmed the decision by the court of primary jurisdiction. Then Interregional Office #7 of the Russian Federation’s Tax Administration filed a cassation petition with the Federal Arbitration Court of the Moscow Region. After legal proceedings the court dismissed the cassation petition and affirmed the decisions by the court of primary jurisdiction and the appeals court.
