OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2008. The Belarusian Investment Forum in London will gather more than 400 participants, First Deputy Minister of Economy of Belarus Piotr Zhabko told a press conference on October 15.

According to him, the goal of the forum is to discuss the possibility of an open dialogue between representatives of the Belarusian Government and business circles and the international financial and business elite.

According to Piotr Zhabko, the investment forum will include two parts. The first part is the plenary session where Belarusian Prime Minister Sergei Sidorsky, Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov, leading investors who work in Belarus will present their reports.

The second part of the forum is the work of the specialized sections which will present concrete investment projects. The forum will present the following sections: “Banking and Insurance Activity”, “Investments in Industry, Petrochemical Complex and Energy Area”, “Investments in Agriculture, Food and Light Industries”, “Regions, Free Economic Zones, Small and Middle-Sized Business of Belarus – Priority Forms of Foreign Investments Attraction”.

The Belarusian investment forum will be held in London on November 18 this year. A number of Belarusian top officials, representatives of state bodies and organizations, the foreign organizations which work in this country are expected to take part in the forum. Representatives of investment, consulting, banking structures and also heads of companies from foreign countries will attend the London forum as well. The Belarusian Investment Forum has been organized by the Belarus National Investment Agency, the Belarusian Economy Ministry, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry, the Eventica Company (Great Britain) and the Belarusian Embassy in Great Britain. The forum will be held under the auspices of the Council of Ministers of Belarus.
