OREANDA-NEWS  On 17 October was announced, that the gold medal and the grand prize for the Best Structure of the Year within the CIS countries was awarded to the authors of Stolitsa public and retail underground centre in Independence Square in Minsk, the architects: Mikhail Gaukhfeld, Vyacheslav Danilov, Aleksandr Chadovich and Viktor Nikitin.

The award ceremony was held within the session of the coordination council of the International Association of Unions of Architects (IAUA) and the Council of Head Architects of the CIS Capitals that took place in Minsk from October 3 to 5.

The international jury also awarded the architect Oleg Vorobiyov with the first grade diploma for the project of the office building of Belarussian Potassium Company on Independence Avenue in Minsk.

The IAUA comprises 13 national architects’ unions of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizia, Moldova, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and the 4 biggest city organizations of architects’ unions of Astana, Kiev, Moscow and St Petersburg.
