OREANDA-NEWS  On 17 October was announced, that specialists give a high estimate to winter crops which had been sown this autumn by Allac Ltd. (Kamensky district of the Altay Territory). In this arable unit, planted area for winter crops stands at 1,300 ha. More than 1,200 ha here was planted with elite seeds of winter rye, another 50 ha – with winter wheat. Seed production at Allac Ltd. will start from exactly this area: wheat was planted here for testing and further breeding.

Emerging winter crops in this unit appear better than crops on the fields of nearby districts, and give all the reasons to expect big harvest next year. This is well-grounded – all the necessary preparation for sowing winter crops was carried out fully and on schedule, seeds used for the campaign are high-quality. If the weather conditions are favourable, all investments will pay back generously.

It should be mentioned that the investment was considerable: in the current year, the machinery fleet was significantly renovated and new inputs were purchased – elite seeds of wheat, rye and other crops, quality fertilizers and reliable herbicides. The funds for these purposes were allocated by the parent company OJSC PAVA. Its financial investments in agricultural production will be conducted on the same scale next year: quality cultivation of fallow lands (which mostly contribute to the gain of Allac Ltd. land bank) requires using powerful and highly efficient modern machinery.

It is possible for PAVA to attract and invest vast resources in the development of relatively new activities due to its reputation of a large, rapidly developing company. Nowadays, PAVA is the largest grain processor in the Asian part of Russia, and the Best Exporter of the national flour milling industry. This status was granted to PAVA by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, following the results of 2007, when PAVA shipped 17% of the total volume of exported flour to the countries of far and near abroad.
