OREANDA-NEWS. October 20, 2008. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Yaroslavl region (OFAS Russia) fined "Slavneft-Yyaroslavnefteproduct" OJSC 70 182 43.94 Rubles for abusing dominant position on the market of wholesale distribution of oil products, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Earlier the Yaroslavl OFAS Russia recognized that "Slavneft-Yyaroslavnefteproduct" OJSC violated the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition" in terms of abusing dominant position that could lead to restricting competition and infringing the interests of other persons. The case against the company was initiated following the findings of a scheduled inspection organized by the Yaroslavl OFAS Russia.

"Slavneft-Yyaroslavnefteproduct" OJSC violated the law by economically and technologically unjustified fixing of different prices for the same goods and, as a consequence, creating discriminatory conditions. The antimonopoly office established that the price difference for selling oil products to the counteragents varied from 50 to 850 Rubles per ton.

For abusing dominant position the Yaroslavl OFAS Russia imposed administrative charges on "Slavneft-Yyaroslavnefteproduct" OJSC under Article 14.31 of the Code of Administrative Violations of the Russian Federation - a fine amounted to 3.17% of the company's net sales.
