OREANDA-NEWS  On 21 October was announced, that Belarus’ GDP deflator in January-September 2008 amounted to 121.2% of the level registered in the same period of the previous year.

This means the average level of prices for commodities and services rose 21.2% on the year.

The value added of the manufacturing sector in GDP in the first three quarters amounted to 30.2%. Trade and public catering follow with 10.3, then come construction with 8.8%, agriculture with 8.6%, transport and communication with 8%.

Construction showed the highest increase in the gross value added in the period, followed by public catering and manufacturing, 22.9%, 19.1% and 17.2, respectively.

The gross value added of the transport and communication sector rose only 6.4%, and of agribusiness 7.4%.

Belarus’ GDP grew 10.7% in comparable prices to 93.165 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br).

Gross value added is obtained by deducting intermediate consumption from gross output.
