OREANDA-NEWS. On October 22, 2008 Mrs. Irena Mikelioniene, Director of National Accreditation Bureau issued a certificate of accreditation to high voltage equipment testing laboratory of Lietuvos Energija AB. Field of accreditation – testing of metering transformers, reported the press-centre of Lietuvos Energija.

It is the only laboratory for testing of high voltage equipment in the Baltics and one of the most up-to-date facilities in Europe.

“The primary goal of the laboratory work” – testing of current and voltage metering transformers”, - says Mr.Petras Povilas Skiudas, Director of Transmission Grid Department of Lietuvos Energija, which incorporates the laboratory for testing of high voltage equipment. According to him, from now on the metrological inspection of current, voltage and combined (current and voltage) metering transformers will be conducted extremely accurately and at the same time – in a much simpler manner.

In order to perform the metrological metering of the equipment, there will be no need to disassemble and transport it to the laboratory. The laboratory will reach the equipment by itself. We will be able to perform the inspection of high voltage equipment in any European country.

“We rejoice and congratulate “Lietuvos Energija” on this achievement, since accreditation means international recognition of competency”, - says Mrs. Irena Mikelioniene, Director of National Accreditation Bureau. According to her, the company’s high voltage equipment testing laboratory is a small and modern facility, which during its accreditation showed a high level of professionalism and responsibility.

Owned by the National Investor LEO LT daughter company Lietuvos Energia AB, the lab began its accreditation process in September, 2007. The accreditation certificate is valid for 5 years.
