OREANDA-NEWS. October 28, 2008. The complicated international financial situation makes itself felt in Tatarstan. The rumors concerning non-granting of deposits to physical persons by several major banks are in the air in the capital city of the Republic. In this connection AK BARS Bank maintains stable position, reported the press-centre of AK BARS Bank.

The Chairman of AK BARS Bank Board of Directors Robert Musin reported the actual situation of the major credit-finance institution of Tatarstan to the journalists:

'The situation in AK BARS Bank is well-established. If we take the last 9 months, the operational assets of the Bank made up about 200 billion roubles and we on our part carried out conservative policy. Say, our internal loans themselves make up 10% , it is not that much for the Bank out of Top-20. The deposits of the population total 12-13%'.

The Bank was dynamically developing during 9 months of 2008, demonstrating growth rates at the level higher than industry average. The assets of the Bank increased for 23% or for 43,9 billion roubles. The profit made up 2,2 billion roubles. Paid authorised capital in the amount of 19,2 billion roubles secures the soundness of the activity of the bank. The amount of core capital made up 28,1 billion roubles on October 1, 2008.

'The concern of AK BARS Bank as an accredited and system-forming bank of the republic is to credit small-scale, middle and big business. We are not entitled to allow sort of blood vessels of the republic to run down'.

Having this strategic advantage at its disposal the Bank will further expand its market positions and fulfill the strategy of its development, in accordance with which the reinforcement of market positions is stipulated not only in the Republic of Tatarstan, but also in other regions of Russian Federation. It is significant to mention, that new opportunities are opened for the most strong participants of the market in the critical times. AK BARS Bank is planning to take advantage of these opportunities in order to reinforce its positions.
