OREANDA-NEWS. October 31, 2008. In January-September 2008 the port of Vyborg ("Oslo Marine” Group) handled 944,734 tons of cargoes, which by 22% exceeds the figures of the similar period of 2007, the group’s press-service informs.

The port handled 6,073 tons of large-sized rolling equipment (growth more than in 200 times), 811,000 tons bulk cargoes (+49.24%).
Company's profit in the reported period increased by 58% in comparison with the 3rd quarter of 2007.
At present basic cargoes handled in the port are bulk, timber, general cargoes, tanker etc. The port of Vyborg is a member of the Association of sea commercial ports of Russia.


The port of Vyborg, purchased by "Oslo Marine" Group in 2007, is located in the eastern part of the Vyborg Gulf. The port has 13 berths of total length over 1,100 m. According to a reconstruction plan, in 2008 the port should become capable to accept, handle and export up to 2.5 mln tons of cargoes a year, including 144,000 TEU.
