OREANDA-NEWS  On 07 November was announced, that in January-September 2008 enterprises of the "Siberian Coal Power Company" (SUEK) mined 65.1 million ton and realized 68.2 million ton of coal. In comparison with the same period of 2007, the coal output increased by 19.7 percent*; sales increased by 12.9 percent.

The largest growth of sales was noticed in the domestic market - 17.8 percent in comparison with the 9 months of 2007. 48.3 million ton of coal was shipped to Russian consumers; 36.4 million ton of this amount was shipped to power enterprises. The growth of sales in the domestic market was caused by increase of demand for coal from a number of power stations.

In comparison with the 9 months of 2007 international sales increased by 2,5 percent and made 19.9 million ton; whereas export of Russian coal decreased by 8.2 percent - to 16.7 million ton. The main directions of international sales are Great Britain, Japan, Korea, the Netherlands, Denmark and Poland.

*all comparative data on 2007 coal output is presented without taking into account of the LLC ‘Kompaniya Vostsibugol', mines ‘Komsomolets', ‘Yegozovskaya' and ‘Kolmogorovskaya' that were excluded from the ‘SUEK' as the result of re-structuring of the ‘SUEK' in the end of 2007.
