OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2008. AB Parex Bankas increases the interest rate for time deposits in litas, euros, and US dollars, reported the press-centre of Parex Bankas.

The interest rate will be increased by averagely 0.64 percentage points for time deposits of up to half a year in litas, 0.28 percentage points – in euros, and 0.4 percentage points – in US dollars. Respectively, the interest rate will be 6.9 per cent for half-year time deposits in litas, 6 per cent – in euros, and 4.5 per cent – in US dollars.

The highest interest rate has been fixed for two year time deposits – 7,6 per cent for deposits in litas, 6.2 per cent – in euros, and 4.8 per cent – in US dollars.

“We are increasing the interest rate taking into account changes ongoing in financial markets. Deposits are one of the most stable and safest saving instruments which guarantee a concrete return for our clients. Deposit insurance guarantees safety of saved funds,” Skirmantas Jareckas, member of the Board of Parex Bankas and Director of Treasury Division explains.
