OREANDA-NEWS. November 11, 2008. SibCOTES took part in the International Industrial Exhibition Sibpolytech-2008 held at the Siberian Fair, Novosibirsk on October 28-31, 2008.

The Fair hosted approximately 200 companies from 40 Russian cities, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries and Germany. Exhibitors displayed a host of commercially available technologies, including industrial automation, electrical hardware, instrumentation and control systems, boilers and pumping equipment. Also featured were cable products, utility equipment, resource saving technologies, and state-of-the-art R&D projects.

SibCOTES’ senior engineers also participated at a round table discussion devoted to innovative developments within the energy sector in Siberia. According to Sergey Gladky, SibCOTES’ Chief Engineer in the Business Development Department, the discussions helped everyone better assess the current state of the energy sector development within the Siberian region, which will assist the company as it makes plans for future growth and development.

SibCOTES presented several in-house innovations at the Sibpolytech Exhibition. Examples included the plasmatron igniter with a floating UHF-discharge, low emission pulverized coal burners, ash-collector with two-stage pre-coagulation, and fuel oil-free ignition for pulverized coal (PC) boilers. The unique Circular Furnace PC boiler which has become the brand symbol of the company drew special interest at the SibCOTES booth.

The power boiler was first recommended for commercial application by the RAO UES Council for Science and Engineering in 2002. A full-scale circular furnace boiler, with a steaming capacity of 820 t/h, has been successfully operating for over ten years at Novo-Irkutskaya power plant in Irkutsk, Russia. The circular furnace design reduces metal weight, and consequently the cost of heating surfaces of the boiler, while improving reliability of waterwall panels, and keeps the temperature in the flame kernel down resulting in reduced NOx emissions. Overall the boiler design simplifies the layout arrangement for the boiler building and its supporting structures.

The wide range of innovations and innovative services displayed at the SibCOTES stand was greeted with great interest by many visiting design engineers, chief power engineers and the executive management of key manufacturing enterprises attending the Fair.
