OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2008. In January-September 2008, trade balance deficit of Moldova amounted to US2 billion 468,7 million, having increased by US 861,1 million or 53,6% in comparison with the same period of 2007.

According to the National bureau of statistics which does take into account export-import transactions of Transnistria, not officially registered in Moldova, for nine months of 2008 the volume of Moldavian export has made about US 1 billion 203,3 million, having increased in comparison with the same period of the last year by 30,4 %.

The volume of import to Moldova has made \\$3 billion 672 million, having exceeded indicators of the same period of the last year by 45,1 %. Thus the volume of export to CIS countries has grown by 23 % - up to US 465,9 million. Export to EU countries has increased by 35,1 % - up to US 623,9 million.

Import from CIS countries has increased by 34,7 % - up to US 1 billion 274,3 million and from EU– by 41,3 % - up to US 1 billion 621,3 million, respectively.

Trade balance deficit with EU countries has increased by 45,5 % - up to US 997,4 million and with CIS states - by 48,1 % - up to US 808,4 million.

The largest trade deficit of Moldova was registered with Ukraine (US 535,3 million). Then follows: Germany (US 227 million), China (US 225,4 million), Romania (US 216,7 million), Russia (US 208,4 million), Turkey (US 150,6 million), Italy (US 100,7 million), Belarus (US 87,9 million).
