OREANDA-NEWS. On November 08, 2008 The meeting on crediting air carriers by the parastatal banks took place at the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Ministry announced possible crediting of air carriers included in the list, which was complied by the Ministry of Transport.

The Federal Antimonopoly Service advised the Ministry of Transport on impermissibility of financial assistance to the air carriers included in the list because it would give preferences to certain economic entities.

FAS Russia stated that financial assistance using state budgetary funds must be either provided to all air carriers that have licenses and effectively involved in air transportation, or to individual companies selected through competitive bidding and under conditions that do not contravene the antimonopoly legislation.

To support competitive environment, FAS Russia proposed to the Ministry of Transport to inform the banks on possibility to credit the airlines under conditions that comply with the antimonopoly requirements.
