OREANDA-NEWS. November 12, 2008. IBA participated in the scientific conference “Higher Technical Education: Problems and Development Options” that was held by the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) with the assistance of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, reported the press-centre of IBA.

The conference was aimed at discussing current issues in education, searching for new development options for higher technical education, and elaborating recommendations on training of qualified human resources in Belarus. Special emphasis was placed on modern standards in education, quality management in higher technical education, and modern technologies in the educational process.

The conference gathered rectors of leading Belarusian higher educational institutions. Vitali Nikulenka, IBA Deputy Director of SW Development, delivered a presentation on using e-University at educational institutions.

According to Mr. Nikulenka, IBA is an innovative company striving to offer its customers the most cutting-edge technologies. He says: “At the conference, we presented e-University, a software platform that supports online distant learning.

The product was developed by IBA to support e-learning in Belarus. Distant learning is widely used in educational systems of many countries. In Belarus, this form of education is used in the organizations where IBA has already implemented e-University, including:

The Belarusian State University (BSU)
The International School of Business and Management of Technology
The Institute of Advanced Training and Retraining
The Commanding and Engineering Institute of the Ministry for Emergency Situations
The Military Academy of the Republic of Belarus
The IBA Training Center.”

“The software platform has already gained popularity among students. I suppose that e-learning will be even in greater demand in future as it allows students to study according to the curriculum of educational institutions regardless of their location, to obtain advanced training or to retrain anytime and on-the-job”.
