OREANDA-NEWS  On 17 November was announced, that Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MGSU) will graduate the first specialists in developing high-rise buildings in 2016.

According to Nikolay Senin, president of the department of industrial and civil engineering in MGSU, the modern skyscrapers have started to be raised in Moscow in recent years. “But there is already a shortage of staff in the sector of high-rise development,” the president noted.

Mr Senin said that the department of high-rise engineering had been set up in MGSU due to the decision by Moscow City Mayor Yuri Luzhkov. “Besides MGSU, there is no place in Russia where a department of high-rise engineering exists,” he emphasized.

The president of the department of industrial and civil engineering added that beginning with 2010 MGSU would train students to build unique buildings and structures.

“We will have the first graduating students in seven or eight years. Though there is a need for such staff already now,” Mr Senin noted.

In the meantime the specialists of MGSU conduct additional lessons for the senior students on the department of high-rise engineering.

“We have taken three groups of students this year. Next summer we will provide them with work,” Mr Senin concluded.
