OREANDA-NEWS  On 17 November OMZ OJSC (Uralmash-Izhora Group) (RTS: OMZZ; LSE: OMZD; OTC: UHMVY) announced that SKODA JS a.s., the Pilsen-based flagship company of the Czech nuclear industry, and a part of OMZ Group, will participate in the resumed construction of the third and fourth power units of the Slovakia’s Mochovce Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) as a core contractor for the production of the main elements of the nuclear island. Other companies from the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia will also take part in the construction. The ordering customer for the construction is Slovenske Elektrarne, a Slovak company.

To date Slovenske Elektrarne and SKODA JS have agreed on the works needed and the price range. The final price is to be established in the course of further negotiations. The contract is scheduled to be signed in late 2008.

The companies also agreed that a contract for preparatory works, including development of the infrastructure for the construction site and engineering, will be signed by the end of this week. This will allow efficient use of the time needed for signing of the final contract between Slovenske Elektrarne and SKODA JS.
