OREANDA-NEWS  On 18 November was announced, that following the decision of the Latvian State to provide support to Parex banka ailing under the financial crisis, the Board of the Bank appealed to Gatis Kokins to return to the Bank in the capacity of Vice President. G.Kokins has given his consent to undertake the duties and use his expertise in both, the financial markets and Parex banka to advance successful operation of the Bank in the stressed market environment.

G.Kokins has previously worked at Parex banka. He joined the institution in 1997 and held a post of Vice President administrating the customer service department, before leaving the Bank in October 2007 to go into business.

Having accepted the appeal to return to the Bank, G.Kokins embarked upon his duties on 12 November. He will supervise the servicing and attracting of clients from the State and Municipality sectors; manage the Private Banking Department and operation of Parex banka’s foreign branches.

As a Chairman of the Board of a political party Society for other politics, G.Kokins will not actively engage in any political activities, while working for the Bank supported by the Latvian State.

Parex banka and its clients will benefit from G.Kokins’s proficiency and sustained experience in the banking sector, as well as from his talent of manager demonstrated, while holding executive positions in Deutsche-Lettische Bank, Hansabank and Parex banka.
