OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2008. In Moscow there took place a regular meeting of KAMAZ Board of Directors.

The representatives of KAMAZ owners considered the issues concerning the current position on the Russian truck market, and also – the market development projection in 2009.

It is expected that in 2008 the sales in the class of trucks with gross weight of 14-40 tonnes will make up 127 thousand units. At the same time the KAMAZ share on the domestic market will increase by 0.2% in comparison with 2007 and make up 30.1%.

Notwithstanding the tendency of aggravation of crisis performances on the domestic market and CIS markets, KAMAZ intends to keep its leading position on them. The company’s management submitted for consideration of Board of Directors a crisis management program including the following measures:
– reduction of costs and production efficiency increase;
– toughening of control of condition and turn-out of operational capital;
– optimization of headcount of staff;
– conservation of surplus working areas;
– outsourcing of secondary productions.

The suggested project of a crisis management program of KAMAZ Inc. is approved by the company’s Board of Directors.
