OREANDA-NEWS. November 16, 2008. Moldovan winemakers are looking for solutions that would allow launching a network of Moldovan wine shop in Russia. The statement was made by Minister of Economy and Trade, Igor Dodon, in an internet-conference organized by RBC agency of Moscow.

The official also stated that following the embargo imposed by Russia, the local wine producers managed to diversify the markets for the alcoholic products and to enter in over 40 states.

At the same time, answering to the question whether Russian citizens may buy a Moldovan wine company or vineyard, Dodon stated that there are no obstacles in purchasing a company.

According to the Minister, Russian entrepreneurs may initiate businesses in Moldova. "We carried out reforms in this area, so that an enterprise can be registered in 24 hours, even through internet", noted Igor Dodon.

The most significant exports of Moldovan spirits in the first 9 months 2008 were directed to Russia (41.2 mln USD), which accounts for 33% against 86-88% before the embargo.
