OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2008. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received CEO of Belgian ENEX process engineering SA Koen Minne at the Imperial Hotel in Vienna.

Thanking for the opportunity of a personal meeting the guest congratulated the Turkmen leader on great success of the Turkmen-Austrian top level talks and the official visit to the Federal Republic of Germany. Mr. Koen Minne noted that this success was vividly illustrated by the rapidly increased interest shown by the business circles of Europe, in particular Austria and FRG in co-operation with Turkmenistan as the country with the huge resource and economic potential. In this regard the Belgian businessman reaffirmed the company’s intention to expand on the very promising Turkmen market.

Welcoming this intention Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan was always open for equal mutually advantageous partnership. The Turkmen leader said that Europe remained a priority of Turkmenistan foreign policy strategy aimed at developing effective contacts with the European business community including the long-term partners such as ENEX.

The Belgian businessmen informed the Turkmen leader of the progress of the projects implemented by the company in Turkmenistan. The sides exchanged views in the opportunities of co-operation in such fields as fuel and energy sector, processing industry, production of mineral fertilizers. Informing ENEX’s intense interest in enhancing co-operation in the fuel and energy sector the guest said that the results of the independent audit of the group of deposits Southern Yoloten-Osman and Yashlar filed was a world sensation proving the status of Turkmenistan as a world’s gas exporter.

The sides mentioned telecommunications as a very promising field of co-operation. Mr. Koen Minne presented the concrete proposals for partnership to the President.

Emphasizing that Turkmenistan attached paramount importance to technology modernization and development of this sector Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the Belgian partners’ proposals would be studied thoroughly.

In conclusion the CEO of the ENEX Company expressed sincere gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the opportunity of a personal meeting and assured that the company would spare no effort to justify the granted confidence.
