OREANDA-NEWS. November 20, 2008. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko states that Government agreed with banks upon the credit extension for agrarian complex and other key branches of the economy which have been significantly affected by the global financial crisis, in particular, the agrarian complex.

Opening the Government’s sitting today, the PM informed that such agreements had been achieved at the day before meeting between the Government and National Bank of Ukraine with participation of the Oschadbank of Ukraine and Ukreximbank. According to her, in particular, agreements upon the credit extension for agrarian complex and for all key branches in recession, particularly, metallurgical, chemical, machine-building have been achieved.

Yulia Tymoshenko specified that such credits would be extended till June 1, 2009 at a special interest rate. According to her, this enables the branches to overcome grave financial shortage.

Moreover, Yulia Tymoshenko told that recapitalization of two national banks - Oschadbank of Ukraine and Ukreximbank was discussed at the meeting. According to her, after recapitalization, these banks can revive the mortgage lending that, in its turn, will help to solve problems of the building branch.
