SibCOTES Wins Contest Russian 100 Best Goods
OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2008. SibCOTES has become a winner in the Russian contest “Russian 100 best goods”. Design and engineering services for power industry facilities provided by the company have been recognized as high-priority and competitive. The awarding ceremony was held in the Novosibirsk State Philharmonic Society building on 11 November, 2008. This year the award became the second recognition of the high-quality services provided by the Company: in August 2008, SibCOTES became the winner in the regional phase of the contest “Russian 100 best goods” (Novosibirsk region).
Participating in the contest “Russian 100 best goods” SibCOTES submitted for the jury\'s consideration its design and engineering services for power industry facilities. Today SibCOTES is one of the few Russian companies using PDMS and AVEVA 3D CAD software, which allows the engineers to speed up the design process as well as to prevent any possible mistakes at the very first stages. At present, such large-scale engineering projects as expansion of Novgorodskaya CHP Plant with a gas-turbine plant with a HRSG and the reconstruction of turbine R-50 are being implemented on the basis of this cutting-edge software.
In addition, the company quality management system was successfully audited this year for compliance with the International Standard ISO 9001:2000, which proves high international level of business processes organization.
Within the contest Dmitry Seleznev, the Head of the C&I Systems and Metrology Department in SibCOTES, was given the rank of a Quality Expert - 2008. At present Dmitry Seleznev with his 25-year experience of work in power industry, manages a number of projects, e.g. the development of engineering and design documentation for the control system of boiler E-120 at TPP Fria (the Republic of Guinea), the development of the Terms of Reference for automation of boiler BKZ-420 at Pavlodarskaya CHP Plant No.3, the commissioning of control system for two boilers in boiler house No.1 at Mining and Chemical Works in Zheleznogorsk (the Krasnoyarsk region), the commissioning of a control system for the turbine unit at Tomskaya Power Plant No.2, the development of the detailed design for the reconstruction of the boiler house owned by Uralskaya Kuznitsa in the Chelyabinsk region.
The Russian State Committee for Standardization and Metrology (now Federal Agency for Technical Regulation and Metrology) together with interregional public organization Quality Academy and the editorial board of Standards and Quality magazine arrange the contest since 1998.
