OREANDA-NEWS. November 24, 2008. The Government will consider an issue on clearing up the basic predicted macroeconomic figures of economic and social development of Ukraine for 2009 and changes of this year’s prediction in connection with the global financial crisis impact.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko informed this at the beginning of a special Gov’t sitting. “These macroeconomic figures won’t be optimistic, they will be reasonable,” the PM stressed. Yulia Tymoshenko added that, in addition, to the global crisis impact, the adjustment of macroeconomic figures would be connected, in particular, with the national currency weakening. According to her, one should recognize a devastating effect of the global financial crisis on the economy of Ukraine and make an unbiased analysis of macro figures. “We should take into account what we face at the financial crisis in the state, expect objective incomes and reasonable budget expenditures.

Yulia Tymoshenko also noted that the GDP formation summing up the year, forecasts for the following year, including the inflation rate in connection with changes in national exchange rate are to be considered during the Government’s sitting.

On the whole, according to Yulia Tymoshenko, one is to count that all countries of the world will overcome the grave economic situation within two years at least. “I am confident that our Cabinet will have to help the state out of this difficult way of the global financial crisis and take a stable way of economic development. But the country will have economic and financial losses – this, unfortunately should be stated,” the Head of Government stated.
