OREANDA-NEWS. November 21, 2008. The stability of the Belarusian economy lies with setting up export-oriented enterprises. The statement was made by Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky as the second technological line for manufacturing mineral wool products based on basalt fibre was launched in Gomelstroimaterialy company, reported the Official website www.government.by.

The more similar enterprises Belarus has, the faster and simpler it will be to overcome negative phenomena on the global market.

The new line will allow fully satisfying the demand of the domestic construction industry with modern heat-insulating boards and exporting some of the make.

The construction of the new line was supervised by the Prime Minister. The new facility was set up within eight months instead of the 18 planned months. The output capacity stands at 264,000 cubic metres of mineral wool boards per annum.

The company commissioned the first such line in 2005. Karelia basalt, porphyrite and dolomite are used as raw materials for manufacturing the boards, ensuring their acidity value as high as 1.8. The engineering level of the mineral wool facility ensured the inclusion of the technology into the list of high-tech production facilities and enterprises of Belarus by 2010. The mineral wool heat-insulating slabs are designed and manufacturing in line with standards STB ISO 9001-2001, STB ISO 14001-2005, STB ISO 18001-2005.

Construction materials enterprise Gomelstroimaterialy was founded in 1949. It manufactures light, semi-rigid, rigid and super-rigid heat-insulating mineral wool boards available under the trademark Beltep. The enterprise also offers lime bricks and stones, porous concrete blocks, and linoleum.

In 2008 the Gomel enterprise became Belarus’ first company to get European quality certificate EH 13162:2001. The certificate allows the enterprise to use CE marking.
