OREANDA-NEWS  On 25 November was announced, that Bernhard Remmers Award for Outstanding Achievements in the Preservation of Historic Monuments in Europe was given to the composite author for restoring the culture preserve Tsaritsyno in Moscow.

A grand ceremony of presenting the Gold Medal will take place within the opening of the 8th European fair for heritage conservation, restoration and renovation of old buildings denkmal in Leipzig, Germany, on November 20.

The Award winners are selected by a specialist jury made up of international experts from the heritage sector, members of the Advisory Council and the International Committee.

Denkmal has been held since 1994 with the support of Unesco. This year it is to comprise 400 exhibits from over 40 countries. Russia is traditionally reckoned among the permanent participants of the fair.

The Moscow exposition is to occupy 500 sq m. The Committee for Cultural Heritage of Moscow (Moskomnasledie) is preparing the showcase “Restoration. A Dialogue between Past and Present” and will introduce the landmarks which have undergone the restoration of various levels of complexity and methods, such as Marfo-Mariinskaya Cloister, Peter’s Road Palace, Tsaritsyno, GUM, Leningradskaya Hotel, Dinamo Watersports Stadium, etc.
