OREANDA-NEWS. November 28, 2008. Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant fully complies with nuclear and radiation safety requirements while the constructors of Leningrad Nuclear Power Plant-2 are strictly implementing the recommendations made by Rostekhnadzor (the Federal Service for Ecological, Technological and Nuclear Supervision), the head of the service Nikolay Kutyin said after visiting Leningrad NPP and the construction site of Leningrad NPP-2.

The parties discussed problems of cooperation of Rostekhandzor inspectors with the managers of LNPP in the field of nuclear and radiation safety.

Kutyin visited the construction site of LNPP-2, checked up the working journals and heard reports by Rostekhadzor inspectors on the quality of construction and compliance with recommendations. 

Kutyin also met with the heads of the directorate for the construction of Leningrad NPP-2. The parties specified construction control schemes and procedures.

The construction of the 1st and 2nd units of Leningrad NPP-2 is part of the federal target program for the development of the nuclear industry of Russia in 2007–2010 and -2015.
