OREANDA-NEWS  On 01 December was announced, that Sodruzhestvo team sports centre opened in southwest Moscow.

“The building has appeared not by accident but due to our warm friendship with Belarus and the Gomel region. We found the idea for this project there. When we saw the structure built by the Gomel people, we decided: let’s develop the same beauty in Moscow,” Yuri Luzhkov, Mayor of Moscow, said at the opening ceremony of Sodruzhestvo.

The official wished all local schoolchildren to go to the sports centre after classes finished.

Sodruzhestvo with the area of 8,500 sq m comprises basketball and volleyball pitches, tennis and futsal courts, an arena able to accommodate 754 spectators, a balcony designed for 96 persons and boxes. The sports centre is also equipped for physically challenged people.

Sodruzhestvo has been under construction since 2006.
