OREANDA-NEWS  On 01 December Rambler Media Ltd. (“Rambler” or the “Company”), operating one of Russia’s most popular internet brands, announced that Rambler won the 2008 Runet award for “Technology and Innovations” at the 5th annual Russian Internet Runet awards ceremony held last night at the Rossiya Concert Hall in Moscow.

The Runet Awards take place every year to recognize the contribution of Russian organizations to the development of the Russian internet space and the growth of IT and electronic communications in Russia. Organizations are nominated in the following categories: Government and Society, Culture and Mass Communications, Science and Education, Economics and Business, Health and Leisure and Technology and Innovations.

Rambler Media has won the Runet award for “Technology and Innovations” following the successful launch of numerous new products and services in 2008, including a new version of its popular homepage Rambler.ru (www.rambler.ru), making it a leading open gateway to the web that features an innovative hybrid vertical search tool; its community hub called ‘Rambler Friends’, which provides users with a single point of access for their personal communication and social networking needs; technology improvements to its leading “Top100” catalogue and internet navigation system among others and with more innovations to come.

For the first time in 2008, Rambler attracted more than 40 million unique monthly users. Upon receiving the award, Rambler Media’s Chief Product Officer, Arkady Moreynis, extended his gratitude to his team and all Rambler staff that made this award possible.
