OREANDA-NEWS. December 01, 2008. The 10 International Book Fair for High Quality Fiction and Non-Fiction non/fictio№10 opened on 26th of November in the Central House of Artists (CHA), reported the press-centre of Interros.

Launched 10 years ago as an alternative to popular literature market, the non/fiction fair keeps its main feature: the selectivity principle, which is applied to all publications, presented there. The fair exhibits best samples of classical and educational literature, fiction, books on art, design and architecture as well as business literature. The cultural mission of the fair is to become the largest domestic forum of the so called "intelligent" literature.

This year the fair is again supported by the Interros Publishing Program. "The reason we have decided to support the non/fiction fair for the second time (the first time was in 2005) is obvious: the exhibition attracts our target audience. We are interested in such readers ", said Irina Ostarkova, head of the Interros Publishing Program, at the opening press conference.

This year the fair attracted over 250 participants from 21 countries, encompassing 12 special exhibitions and two parallel projects: the Antique Book Fair, "The flavor of the book cover. Domestic individual binding XIX – the XX-th centuries " exhibition and also a diversified events program aimed both at professionals, and amateurs. Conferences, round tables, seminars, symposiums, open discussions, meetings with authors, professional awards ceremonies, film displays, opening days are taking place within the fair’s framework on a daily basis.

Supporting cultural forums of such level, the Publishing program invariably offers public its own conceptual exhibition displays. This time the exhibition of the Publishing program, devoted to its new book series "First publication", and to the competition with the same name for museum professionals, has occupied the entire ground floor of the CHA as a prologue to the program of non/fiction special projects.

Staged in the form of the "Museum of the First Publication ", the exposition shows materials used in three books – "Omsk sensation", "Egorevsk Wonders" and "Heavens of Kenozerje" – by means of various ways of museum exhibitions: from the traditional under glass display to interactive software and ultramodern media presentations.
