OREANDA-NEWS. December 02, 2008. The ceremony of summing up results and rewarding the winners of the all-Russian contest "The Best Annual Report 2007" was held in Moscow. For the first time Tatneft company became a winner in this competition in the category "Best annual report on sustainable development and corporate social responsibility", reported the press-centre of Tatneft.

Such Companies as OAO Gazprom, OAO Gazprombank, Russian Railways etc. were among the winners in other the categories.

The main purpose of the annual contest of annual reports is to attract attention of the business community to the establishment and promotion of annual reports as an effective tool for enhancing the investment attractiveness of Russian companies and increasing their capitalization. This contest is annually arranged by the leading rating agency Expert RA with the support of the Russian stock exchanges.

The advantages of the social reporting preparation imply strengthening of confidence in the company on the part of the concerned parties, arrangement of the constructive dialogue with them, enhancement of business reputation and improvement of the company's image.

OAO Tatneft was among the first Russian companies to begin preparation of social reporting, with application of international standards: Guide to reporting on sustainable development of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and the standard of interaction with concerned parties AA 1000. Application of these instruments allows us to compare the results achieved by our Company with those of other companies to better respond to inquiries of the parties concerned, objective coverage of our priorities and performance results.

OAO Tatneft intends to perform preparation, publishing and distribution its social reports in future as well. Among the prospects for the development of the project is placement of interactive reports at the new Internet portal of the Tatneft, which is now in trial operation, arrangement of interactive consultations, prompt information sharing with stakeholders about the important events of social orientation through posting photo and video reports.

This victory is recognition of the high level of the Company's social and environmental responsibility and its openness to the public.
