OREANDA-NEWS  On 04 December was announced, that large-scale Ukrainian producer of chicken, Myronivskyi Khliboprodukt (Nasha Ryaba, Kyiv) intends to suspend investments in unprofitable projects because of the economic crisis, Viktoria Kapeliushnaia, the company finance manager, told the press. "We give up some small projects that are not involved in the company principal activity," she said. Kapeliushnaia exemplified Myronivskyi Khliboprodukt gardening project, where certain sums have been invested and whose effectiveness will be assessed now. Regarding the project for the construction of a meat processing complex in Vinnytsia region, she noted that the company has not yet endorsed the ultimate terms of its implementation. "We are just considering it," she said. The manager emphasized that Myronivskyi Khliboprodukt is not going to reduce the sale of its products via franchising network, and will support those sale volumes at the level of retail sales. Kapeliushnaia also noted that her company is not planning a layoff, and will focus on optimization of spending by other means, particularly through reduction of expensive business trips and telephone talks. The finance and economy crisis naturally affected Myronivskyi Khliboprodukt, which has dollar debts due in 2009, but thanks to the high competitiveness of its products, their relatively low self-cost and dollar receipts, the company condition is quite favorable compared to its rivals", she said. Myronivskyi Khliboprodukt boosted poultry production by 50% in the first half of 2008, to 110,000 tons. It also boosted profits by 154% or by USD 97 million, to USD 179.63 million. Myronivskyi Khliboprodukt ended 2007 with a net profit of UAH 235.854 million, having increased net revenue by 41.28% or UAH 717.905 million to UAH 2,456.936 million compared to 2006. Myronivskyi Khliboprodukt, which is an open joint-stock company, is a vertically integrated company consisting of 20 enterprises that produce fodder and incubation eggs, breed cattle and chickens, and process and sell finished products. Myronivskyi Khliboprodukt produces poultry meat under the Nasha Ryaba trademark, semi-finished meat products under the Lehko trademark, beef delicacy under the Certified Angus trademark, and goose liver delicacy under the Foie Gras trademark. Raftan Holding (Cyprus) owns 99.77% of the shares in Myronivskyi Khliboprodukt.
