OREANDA-NEWS  On 04 December was announced, that Belarus’ GDP deflator in January-October 2008 amounted to 121.4% of the level registered in the same period of the previous year.

This means the average level of prices for commodities and services rose 21.4% on the year.

The value added of the manufacturing sector in GDP in the first ten months amounted to 29.9%. Trade and public catering follow with 10.5%, then come agriculture with 9.2%, construction with 8.8%, transport and communication with 7.8%.

Construction showed the highest increase in the gross value added in the period, followed by public catering and manufacturing, 22.5%, 19.2% and 16.9%, respectively.

The gross value added of the transport and communication sector rose only 6.2%, and of agribusiness 8.6%.

Belarus’ GDP grew 10.7% in comparable prices to 104.987 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br).

Gross value added is obtained by deducting intermediate consumption from gross output.
