OREANDA-NEWS. December 8, 2008. The construction in Azov City gaming zone may be started now. It was stated by Sergey Nazarov, the Vice Governor of the region, at the press conference in Rostov-on-Don. However, according to him, a lot of investors do not make any haste to start construction – they are standing still in waiting.

“We have done everything that depended on the government of Rostov region in setting up Azov City: we have signed agreements with investors and provided electrical power within the gaming zone area. Actually the construction may be started but none of the investors have started implementing their projects yet; though the gaming business associations and all other investors say that they are ready to build, and they will,” said the Vice Governor. “There is a psychological point: few of the investors are 100% sure that as of July 1st, as the law instructs, all Russian gambling facilities will move to the four gaming zones, and a lot of provocative announcements have been made on that matter: for instance, that the terms of setting up the zone shall be extended as much as to the year 2011. Rostov authorities, unlike investors, are not waiting but fulfilling their obligations. But we would not like to be offput – to have build it and to have no one there.”
