OREANDA-NEWS  On 09 December was announced, that Ingosstrakh summarized the results of the Annual Student Insurance Research Competition. In 2008 the competition was renamed to commemorate the name of the untimely deceased President of Ingosstrakh, Vyacheslav Ivanovitch Sherbakov who had chaired the Competition Expert Panel for several years.

Founded in honor of the Company’s 50th anniversary, the competition was first held in 1997. Ever since, the company’s various divisions have assessed 280 student research works and awarded 37 grants and 60 prizes to some of them. This year the competition was attended by 45 students from 22 lead universities of Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Omsk, Rostov-on-Don, Vladivostok etc. The Expert Panel chaired by the deputy General Director of IJSC Ingosstrakh Mr. A. Sokolov awarded 2 grants and 4 encouragement prizes.

The winners of the competition are a student of Altai State University (Barnaul) Xenia Vasilieva with her research on ‘Today’s major aspects of insurance of future perennial crops’ and a student of the Financial Academy of the RF Government (Moscow) Svetlana Shishkina who prepared a research on insurance of IT-related risks (global practice and Russian market perspectives). The winners received grants from IJSC Ingosstrakh in the amount of RUR 60 k.

Moreover, the Expert Panel awarded 4 encouragement cash prizes of RUR 30 k each. The winners are Elena Anishenko (Yugra State University, Khanty-Mansiysk ), Maria Kozlova (Financial Academy of the RF Government, Moscow), Elena Osintseva (Urals State Technical University, Ekaterinburg), and Vladislav Petrokas (Financial Academy of the RF Government, Moscow).

Irina Tikhomirova, HR Director of IJSC Ingosstrakh, noted that the competition helps to tackle several objectives at once: in addition to boosting the level of interest in insurance professions and development of insurance education standards, the competition encourages stronger contacts between insurance science and practice as well as between universities and insurance organizations.
