OREANDA-NEWS  On 09 December was announced, that Ingosstrakh paid RUR 12,037,414 to the insurant for damage caused by fire in Man Roland – 705 UV press acquired under lease-purchase terms.

The press was insured against natural calamities, damage by water, fire, explosion, unlawful acts of third parties, burglarious entry and robbery, aircraft fall, unforeseen failures or defects, errors or negligence of insurant or third parties’ personnel, as well as break of wire cables and chains, mechanism overload, overheat, etc. The insurance amount under the contract totaled Euro 1,787,147.

The insurance event occurred in April 2008 in the town of Kubinka in the Odintsovo Region of the Moscow Oblast. The most probable cause of fire is ignition of air-steam mixture generated as a result of depressurizing of process pipelines in the space under the printing press gallery in the area of the second and third sections. Fire spread across about 10 square meters. Based on the inspection results the incident was deemed an insurance event and in November’ 2008 the insurant was paid compensation for the press damaged by fire. 

According to Dmitry Yakovlev, head of the medium and small-size business loss adjustment department at Ingosstrakh ISJC, fire has always been and remains the most dangerous phenomenon causing great material damage to the property owner. Production sites are characterized by an extremely high fire hazard due to complex production processes, large numbers of highly inflammable and fuel liquids, equipment with many electric devices. Therefore, insurance including insurance against the fire risk is essential to the production and financial stability of the companies.
