OREANDA-NEWS. December 08, 2008. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, the prices for non-food stuffs decreased by 0.6%, tariffs for services grew by 1.1%, and the prices of foodstuffs remained at the previous month’s level.

The prices have decreased for the main food products: vegetable oil - 14.1%, rice - 5.1%, fresh fruits - 3.3%, potatoes and mutton - 3.1%, pork - 2,3%, sugar -2.4%, wheat flour -2.2% and fresh fish - by 2%. Among the non-foodstuffs the decrease in prices was registered for: fuel - 12.1%, liquid gas - 8.8%, medicines -0.7% and building materials - 0.5%.

At the same time, the increase in prices was registered for: central heating (Balti and Ungheni) - 20.7%, dry cleaning - 2.7%, funeral services - 2% and hairdressing -1.5%.

Among the foodstuffs prices for fresh vegetables - 5.6%, dietary eggs and milk - 3%, sour cream - 1.9% have declined.

The price increase was also registered for: winter boots - 2.8%, men's jackets and fur -1.5%. Since the beginning of 2008 (from November 2008 till December 2007) the inflation rate made 7.5%. Over the past 12 months inflation amounted to 8.5%.
