OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2008. The KAMAZ-Master team underwent the technical commission of vehicles in the French port Le Havre.

“Our vehicles fully comply with all technical requirements. I’ll remind that only we and Tatra have got homologation, – said team captain Semyon Yakubov. – We left the vehicles in the port for shipment. They will be shipped to Argentina. The way across the ocean will take 25 days”.

Dakar-2009 will be held on January 3-18, 2009 in South America on the territory of Argentina and Chile. The rally starts and finishes in Buenos Aires. The length of the route is 9 thousand kilometers 6 thousand of which are a special high-speed area.

The crews of the team will continue preparing for the main rally of the year in Russia and will fly to Buenos Aires only on December 29. The crews are headed by pilots Vladimir Chagin, Firdaus Kabirov, Ilgizar Mardeev, navigators Sergey Savostin, Aydar Belyaev, Vyacheslav Mizyukaev, mechanics Eduard Nikolaev and Andrey Mokeev. Besides, in the third crew Ayrat Mardeev will go instead of injured Andrey Karginov.

The team is headed by its captain, laureate of the Governmental Award of Russia, Honoured Master of Sports Semyon Yakubov. The team also prepares two trucks and one emergency car for Africa Race which will be held approximately within the same period as the South American Dakar-2009.
