OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2008. “Despite disagreements resulted from the global financial crisis and complicated economic situation in the state, it is quite real to implement the plan and till 2012 to provide every among 42 thousand military men on a waiting list with housing,” Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Nadiia Deieva stated at a joined meeting of leaders of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and trade unions of state enterprises of the military department.

According to her, there is need to appropriate means from the stabilization fund to build 2 thousand apartments. First of all, the matter concerns the completion of objects of high rate of readiness. Two variants are considered now: granting credits or allocating means through amending the State Budget.

In Nadiia Deieva’s opinion, the second variant is more acceptable. She reminded that last year when allocation of means for construction of housing for military men of the Armed Forces was introduced and means through another department directed, the way of budget means to the direct executive of works increased and constructed apartments reduced twofold.

In order to retain workplaces and labour collectives, prevent reduction in production rates Nadiia Deieva called upon grouping, mobilizing and uniting in actions and deeds.

In his turn, chairman of the National trade union of employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Dmytro Miroshnychenko noted that today the arrears of wages is a problem number one at those enterprises which are controlled by the Ministry of Defense. These rates during 9 months of the current year failed not only to reduce, as it was envisaged by the Sector Agreement, but increased from UAH 7.2 to 12.7 million.

According to him, such state of affairs is connected first of all with low profitability of enterprises. Thus, taking into account the present realias, it is necessary to urgently draft a complex program on antirecessionary measures. Perturbation of heads of unprofitable enterprises, as we can observe it now, without fundamental changes in administration of enterprises, without stirring up the production will hardly give a result.

Moreover, during the meeting trade unions presented a petition for leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on improvement of the mechanism of providing the Armed Forces employees with housing.
