OREANDA-NEWS  On 12 December was announced, that approximately 100 five-storey dwelling houses, so-called "khrushchyovkas", built within the first series of industrial building development are scheduled to be demolished in the last 3 weeks of 2008.

According to Viktor Aistov, first deputy head of Department of Urban Development of Moscow, 350 dilapidated five-storey houses were planned to be pulled down during 2008, 250 among them have been already demolished.

“There are still 100 houses left, we are to pull them down by the end of 2008. I am reported everyday that the demolition is going on,” the official added.

Mr Aistov reminded that, according to the 2007 program, 371 dilapidated five-storey houses had been demolished in Moscow.

As it was reported earlier, all five-storey houses built within the first series of industrial building development are scheduled to be demolished in the Russian capital in 2010.

The five-storey buildings to be demolished have been pulled down completely in central and south Moscow. City Hall plans to demolish roughly 6 million sq m of five-storey dilapidated dwelling houses within the program aimed at redeveloping five-storey housing in Moscow scheduled till 2010.
