OREANDA-NEWS. December 12, 2008. The Office of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in the Tver region (Tver OFAS Russia) recognized that "Tveravtotrans" OJSC violated Article 10 of the Federal Law "On Protection of Competition", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

For two years "Tveravtotrans" OJSC have been charging the passengers of intercity routes extra 10 Rubles over the transportation fee for services provided by the bus terminal. In the additional charges the company included information services, accommodation of passengers in the awaiting halls, emergency medical aid at the first-aid posts, storage and dispensing lost property, booking seats on the buses, as well as the services of platform inspectors.

The Tver OFAS Russia established that there were no regulatory documents specifying possibility of charging extra payment, on top of the tickets, for the services of a bus terminal in which passengers were not interested, and "Tveravtotrans" OJSC failed to inform the passengers on a possibility to buy tickets without paying for the services offered at the bus terminal. Furthermore, the Motor-Service Charter specifies an unconditional right of passengers to use waiting halls at the bus terminal free-of-charge.

"Tveravtotrans" OJSC has valid contracts with transportation organizations for the passenger transportation services on scheduled bus routes, according to which organizations independent from "Tveravtotrans" OJSC pay, in particular, for the informational services.

The Tver OFAS Russia has issued a determination to "Tveravtotrans" OJSC requesting the company to stop the violations and to transfer more than 11 million Rubles of illegally obtained income to the federal budget.
