OREANDA-NEWS  On 15 December was announced, that a newborn intensive care cabinet was opened in a city maternity hospital in Nikopol.

CENTRAVIS has invested 420 000 UAH in equipment of the newborn intensive care cabinet in maternity hospital in Nikopol. Modern equipment will enable to provide high-quality examinations, emergency assistance to newborns and to determine the pathology or threat to the pregnancy.

In the cabinet the following equipment was installed:

scanner for ultrasonic examination Sontace X8;

measurer of bilirubin;

spray dosing device;

bedside monitor;

newborn intensive care unit.

Every year 1500 children are born in Nikopol. According to statistics, 3% of newborns need emergency medical aid. In addition, monthly a women’s consulting office provides services for 400 women with a device for ultrasonic diagnostics, which is needed to determine the pathology or a threat to the pregnancy. Equipment that is available in the maternity hospital is out-of-date and even the high professionalism of doctors does not allow to provide the assistance necessary to nurse or rescue the child. That is why CENTRAVIS decided to provide the maternity hospital in Nikopol with necessary diagnostic facilities.

Sergiy Tsemashko, chief executive of the maternity house of Nikopol:

“Equipment, which was received by the maternity hospital, is a chance for a second birth for babies with impaired central nervous system. It is important to help them in the first minutes of their life. Previously, we had to adapt different equipment to this purpose, but it did not bring the desired results. It is a real happiness for the whole team — not just to help and empathize, but to see real results of their efforts. This means saved lives of little children”.

Investment in equipment of the newborn intensive care cabinet — this is another step of CENTRAVIS in the framework of a corporate social responsibility of the company. The main directions of the programme are medicine, and social assistance to vulnerable people and education of the youth in the Nikopol region.

Yuriy Atanasov, CEO of International Holding CENTRAVIS: “Today we made the largest investment — we invested in our future, in small inhabitants of Nikopol. The equipment will help to nurse, and even rescue the lives of children. I think that nothing is more important, relevant and urgent than this project. I am really proud of what our company does for Nikopol”.
