OREANDA-NEWS. On December 11-12, 2008 The 8th session of the Headquarters on joint investigations of antimonopoly violations in the countries - members of CIS (further on referred to as the Headquarters) takes place in Kislovodsk, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The Russian delegation is led by Anataloy Golomolzin, Deputy Head of FAS Russia. The session is going to analyze the markets of air transportation, telecommunication, and grain in the CIS states.

In particular, the parties will consider the air routes that require joint investigation of antimonopoly cases and discuss proposals on using the findings of the analysis of the market of international telephone communication in order to develop competition on this market.

On 12th December 2008, the joint session of the Headquarters and the FAS Russia's Expert Council on the agro-industrial complex will focus on creating conditions for development of the grain market in CIS, in particular, by ensuring competitive environment on this market. The session will also discuss the draft Guidelines for analysis of the grain market in the CIS states, devised by the Headquarters to study this market.

Apart from representatives of the antimonopoly bodies, the joint session of the Headquarters and the Expert Council will be attended by representatives of the Ministries of Agriculture of the CIS states as well economic entities of the countries - members of CIS, operating on the grain market.

The Headquarters was formed in 2006 by a decision of the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy. The main objective of the Headquarters is organizing joint research of the markets in the CIS states, that are of special social importance for the population, and preparing recommendations for developing competition on these markets as the guarantee of sustainable economic development of any state.

The Expert Council is a consultative and advisory body at FAS Russia. It includes representatives of FAS Russia, other federal executive bodies of the Russian Federation, research organizations, representatives of the associations (societies, unions) of the economic entities that operate in the agriculture sector, and independent experts.
