OREANDA-NEWS. December 17, 2008. S7 Airlines, Russia’s largest air carrier by number of transported passengers on domestic routes, has been named the best air carrier operating regular flights to and from Norilsk*, reported the press-centre of S7 Airlines.

The contest was based on a survey of more than 1,200 Norilsk residents and took both positive and negative feedback into consideration.

The survey revealed that the most important things for residents of Norilsk were low prices, friendly and respectful employees and the provision of necessary information about flights, followed by what the airline does when flights are delayed, i.e., whether it provides meals and a hotel room and the quality thereof.

Statistical information about flight delays and cancellations during 2007-2008 was also analyzed and consolidated.**

Based on the results of the survey, S7 Airlines received the fewest complaints and the most positive feedback.

“S7 Airlines has been operating flights to Norilsk for many years. We fly year round, not seasonally. In October 2008 we began to use a modern, comfortable Boeing 737-800 airliner on the Moscow-Norilsk route. In January 2009 we plan to begin operating flights from Novosibirsk to Norilsk on new Airbus A320s. We try to provide maximum comfort to our passengers and are very happy to have received such gratitude,” said Sergei Sulim, director of S7 Airlines’ Norilsk office.

* The airlines offering regular flights to Norilsk are: S7 Airlines, Rossiya, Kavminvodyavia and Aeroflot Russian Airlines.

** For the month of September, 2008 S7 Airlines took first place in the ranking of the most punctual airlines using Moscow Domodedovo International Airport.
